Once upon a time, in the mystical kingdom of Floriana, stood an imposing castle that towered over the surrounding village. This castle, home to King Elden, was known for two things - its prosperous kingdom and the legend of the 'Ethereal Lantern'.

The ethereal lantern was an ancient artifact, believed to hold miraculous powers. Their ancestors believed that during the darkest times, the light from this illuminating lantern guided them towards hope and pierced through the encompassing gloom.

The prosperous era came to an abrupt halt when an evil sorcerer, Zathar, cast a dark shadow upon the kingdom. The vibrant Floriana turned sulky, with crops withering away, villagers falling ill and a persistent gloomy weather.

Aware of the repercussions, King Elden, a just and wise ruler, decided to seek help from the legend. According to the sacred scriptures, the ethereal lantern resided deep inside the Forest of Illusions, cocooned by bewitching beasts.

Braving the odds, the King ventured into the thick woodlands, while the villagers waited with baited breath. The dense forest, full of treacherous trails and lethal creatures, tested every sinew of King Elden's resolve. However, his willpower was as steady as a mountain, undeterred by the trials he faced.

After numerous days, he reached the heart of the forest. There lay an age-old tree, colossal in size, shimmering with a visible aura. A gentle ray of light escaped from a hole in the tree, revealing the ethereal lantern, placed in a protective crystal.

As he reached out to retrieve the lantern, a monstrous serpent, the guardian of the lantern, blocked his path. Fueled by the burning love for his kingdom, King Elden drew his sword, preparing for the encounter. Aware that a fight would wound both, the King chose to communicate with the beast, trying to make it understand the dire need for the lantern.

Struck by the sincerity in his words, the serpent pondered and saw the despair deep in King Elden's eyes. With a heavy sigh, it moved aside, allowing the king to claim the ethereal lantern.

Returning to the distraught Floriana, King Elden raised the lantern high into the evening sky. A soft, warm light emanated from it, piercing through the shadow cast by Zathar. It lighted up the kingdom, restoring its lost glory. The crops sprung back to life, the sick villagers regained their lost vitality and the weather turned lively.

The villagers wept with joy and thanked their king, who in turn thanked the guardian serpent in his heart. The dark era had finally drawn to an end, making way for a new dawn - all thanks to the ethereal lantern. The legend turned out to be the savior during the dark times and King Elden, the hero who brought light back to Floriana.

From then onwards, he made a decree, to celebrate the 'Day of Light' every year on the day he reclaimed the Ethereal Lantern, reminding everyone of the light that exists even in the darkest of times if one truly believed.
